What could you use cherry pie filling for? You can use it in cakes, such as Black Forest Cake (I have the recipe here), or as a topping to your ice cream or for a tart or pie filling. Use your imagination. This filling is amazing.

Using fresh cherries made it so rich and delicious. The cherries remained slightly crispy, which made it incredibly tasty. Try this filling, it is really easy and quick to make.

Ingredients

  • 200 g pitted cherries
  • 100 g sugar
  • 100 ml water
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  • Pit the cherries, here is a link to my recipe on how to do it.
  • In a medium saucepan, put the cherries, sugar, water, lemon juice and cornstarch.
  • Boil the ingredients over medium heat. Stir well while it gets thick; that takes about 5-6 minutes.
  • As you can see, it is simple and easy to make.
