Amazing little mouth-watering chocolate sandwiches. Their filling of cream cheese and caramel Dulce de Leche gives a great taste to the chocolate layers.

Very suitable for all types of parties. Children and adults will be super happy with their appearance and taste. The shape can be changed according to the type of parties.

In the recipe, the ingredients are for 20 sandwiches, you can make half the dose and make only 1 tray, divide it into two to get two layers and cut them into smaller pieces according to your taste.

Chocolate Caramel Cream Sandwiches

Ingredients

Layers

  • 2¼ cups flour
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp baking soda
  • 9 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1⅕ cups sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 1¾ cups almond milk (regular)
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1½ tbsp vanilla extract

Cream

  • 750 g cream cheese
  • 300 ml Dulce de Leche sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

Layers

  • Preheat the oven to 360 °F.
  • Line two baking sheets 26 x 40 cm with parchment paper.
  • Whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, salt, cacao powder and sugar in a bowl. Set aside.
  • Heat the almond milk in a saucepan and melt the butter in it. Then add it to the flour mixture. Add the vanilla extract and stir briefly with a whisk until combined.
  • Pour the batter onto the prepared baking sheets, divide the batter equally between them and spread evenly. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  • Test with a toothpick (if toothpick comes out clean, it means that it’s done) then remove and allow to cool completely.

Cream Layers

  • Prepare the cream layer.
  • Put the cream cheese into a mixing bowl and beat with an electric hand mixer until fluffy. Add the Dulce De Leche Sweetened Condensed Milk and continue the beat until creamy. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes.

Assembly

  • Spread the cream on one of the two chocolate cake layers.
  • Take the other cake layer and cut it into slices – approximative 5 x 10 cm. ( I got 15 pieces of 5×10 cm and 5 pieces of 5×8 cm.)
  • Put the pieces over the layer with the cream cheese.
  • Use a pizza cutter or a sharp knife and cut the bottom layer along the edges of the top slices so that you create sandwiches, each with two layers of cake and a layer of cream in between.
  • Keep covered in the fridge.
