Chocolate Hazelnut Crinkle Cookies

In this recipe I am offering you these round, chocolate, small and delicious cookies with toasted hazelnuts! They are super easy to make and they are suitable for many different occasions.

I have already shown you a recipe for similar cookies in my blog, they were with lemon. They were light and very airy (here is the recipe).

 These, on the other hand, are rich, flavourful and very chocolaty. I know we all have our own favorite go to home baked cookies, however I strongly recommend you give these ones a try.

They might just become your new favorites. They are also definitely a good way to give your family a small and sweet surprise. 

They are easy and fast to prepare. I made one batch of 24 cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup hazelnut (vegetable) oil
  • 40 g toasted and chopped hazelnuts
  • ¼ cup powder sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • In a medium bowl, combine together the flour, the cocoa powder, the baking powder and the salt. Set it  aside.
  • In a small bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar. Then add the brown sugar, vanilla extract and hazelnut oil and mix once more.
  • Add the toasted and chopped hazelnuts into the dry mixture. Then add the egg mixture into the dry one. Make sure to mix it all very well.
  • Into a separate bowl, pour the powdered sugar.
  • Take one tablespoon of the cookie dough and roll it into a small ball, around 2 cm in diameter. Then roll the ball into the powdered sugar and make sure you coat it generously and evenly.
  • Place the coated ball onto the baking sheet.
  • Repeat the process with the rest of the cookie batter.
  • Bake the cookies for about 10-12 min.
