Chocolate Wafer Cake

I made this cake for the first time 10 years ago. It’s my husband’s favourite. It is something different yet very tasty. It is easy and quick to prepare. Its layers are already made, you don’t have to bake them, which saves you a lot of time.

I chose to combine condensed milk and chocolate cream as I wanted the taste to resemble marshmallows. The chocolate cream is very unique as it has halva in it! The halva is the most important ingredient after the chocolate in this cake so make sure you don’t forget it when you’re making this desert. To decorate your cake, you can covert it all with walnuts or any other nuts that you prefer. Any type of nuts are suitable for this cake. You can even put nuts in the chocolate cream if you want.

Free you creativity and decorate the cake as you desire. I chose pistachios as the decoration on top of my cake. This is the perfect easy and delicious desert to surprise your loved ones with.

Ingredients

  • 300 ml sweetened condensed milk
  • 6 sheets of tort wafers
  • 200 g unsalted butter
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 200 g halva
  • 300 g chocolate

Instructions

  • In a bowl, pour the milk and the butter. Put it on the stove over medium heat and stir until all is melted. Add the sugar, the halva and the chocolate. Don’t stop stirring until you get a thick cream. Remove from the stove. Leave it to cool.
  • Take a sheet and smear it with condensed milk. Put another sheet on it and cover it with the chocolate cream and so on, alternate until you have used all your sheets. Cover the whole cake with the rest of the chocolate cream, on the top and on the sides.
  • Put it in the refrigerator for at least one night. This overnight stay in the fridge will soften the sheets and the cake will melt in your mouth when you eat it.
