Oh, how much I love summer !!! What are the first things that come to mind when you think about summer? Sun, hot and long days, beach and ice cream! We can’t go to the beach every day but we can eat ice cream every day.

In this post, I will show you how to make homemade ice cream. It is very easy and very tasty! My kids love it! The flavour depends on your preferences! Here I will show you ice cream with blueberry jam!

Everything is prepared for a very short amount of time, however it takes a little bit of patience as the freezing is longer. I prepare it in the afternoon or evening and leave it in the freezer overnight. The next day the ice cream is ready!

If you want, you can use ready-made jam or you can replace it with caramel. You can sprinkle it with nuts or if you’re making it for kids, you can put some sprinkles. There are many options! However, the base stays the same: cream and condensed milk!

Homemade Blueberry Jam Ice Cream

Ingredients

Ice Cream

  • 300 ml condensed milk
  • 460 ml whipping cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Jam

  • 200 g blueberries
  • 30 g sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

How to make it

Ice Cream

  • In a medium bowl, pour the condensed milk and add the vanilla extract. Stir and set aside.
  • In another bowl, whip the cream. Then carefully add it in portions to the mixture with the condensed milk and vanilla extract. Once mixed well, pour it all into an appropriate sized Tupperware that you can close well and store in the freezer for about an hour.

Meanwhile, make the jam.

  • Pour the blueberries into the saucepan, add the lemon juice and sugar. Stir and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer for no more than 10 minutes. Stir occasionally. Pour into a small bowl and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.

Assemble

  • After the ice cream mixture has cooled down in the freezer for at least 1 hour, you can take it out and use a spatula to make slits in the ice cream where you can pour the jam. My goal was not to color all the ice cream. I wanted to have pieces of white ice cream and pieces of blueberry flavored ice cream. Pour the jam into the formed slits from the spatula and use the spatula to evenly distribute the jam throughout the ice cream. When you achieve the desired result, you can close the Tupperware and put it back in the freezer.
  • Leave it in the freezer overnight. The next day, when you want to eat ice cream, take it out of the freezer 5 minutes before serving so that you can easily scoop balls with an ice cream spoon.
